The first Angel found before it matures. When in embryo state, Sandalphon looks just like a human except it has a tail and is in an egg. When Asuka cought Sandalphon, it hatched and became a full-grown Angel. Asuka had to destroy it. Sandalphon is the only Angel that can survive in hot, molten lava. Sandalphon's body structure is very strong. Sandalphon's only weapons are it's teeth and claws. Sandalphon's AT Field Strength is unknown because like Gaghiel, Sandalphon never set one up. Once Sandalphon has captured you in it's grasp, escape is just about impossible.

Sandalphon's body structure was strengthened when the heat made Sandalphon's flesh stronger. With that, Asuka needed to work and think fast. She used the Thermal Expansion Theory and cut off a cooling pipe from her Type-D suit and stuck it in Sandalphon's mouth, making his flesh contract. With Eva Unit-01's Progressive Knife in hand and the Coolant in Sandalphon, Asuka could stab and destroy Sandalphon with ease.
