Misato is 29 and lazy. She belongs to the first section of military operation bureau of the tactical military operations department of NERV. She is deffinately a comedy relief. Although she's more serious.... Her bestfriend in NERV is Ritsuko. She likes to drink beer and she likes her cooking....even though it made PenPen collapse. Before she brought Shinji in to live with her, her apartment was a mess. Shinji complains a lot about Misato's laziness and sloppiness a lot. Misato was promoted from Captain to Major.
Misato is the sole survivor in the Katsuragi Expedition which was organized by her father to look for Adam, the "first" angel. Misato's father only cared about his experiments and barely ever listened to his family. Misato's mother was very sad and Misato hated him for it. Before the Second Impact occurred, Misato's father sacrificed himself in order to save Misato from death. After that incident, she was in a coma of some sort for 5 years and didn't speak a word. Four years later, Misato has recovered and joins NERV as the Missions Director for NERV.
