Israfel has the ability to seperate into 2. The gold one named Kou and the silver one named Otsu. Israfel has a Ying-Yangish thing for a head. It's used to fire the Laser Beam and to see.

Like all other angels, Israfel's weakness is it's Red Core. Israfel separated himself into two and beat Eva Unit-01 and Eva Unit-02 up. There was a recovery crew who rescued the Evas. However Misato had a plan and they did manage to beat Israfel.
