Gendo is 48 and is very mean. Gendo is very secretive and cruel. Gendo works for a secret organization called SEELE and helps process the Human Enhancement Program and Project-E, aka Project- Evangelion. Although he looks faithful to SEELE, he works secretly against SEELE. All he wants to do is prevent the Third Impact. He treats Rei like his own daughter but treats Shinji as if he was a stranger. Gendo met his wife, Yui at the University of Kyoto and married Yui after she graduated. Yui introduced him to SEELE which means "Soul" in German and becomes the Head of Artificial Human Evolution Laboratory.
