The "Second Child", Asuka is 14 and very aggresive. Asuka is ¼ Japanese, ¾ German and was born in the United States. She came to Japan with Kaji and her Eva Unit-02. She likes to brag about her synchronization ratio and her skills of piloting Eva Unit-02. She is aggresive, full of confidence, and very motivated. And because of that, she HATES to lose. She is incredibly smart for she finished college at the age of 13.
Asuka's lonely. Eva Unit-02 is all her life. She only feels alive when she's in the entry plug of Eva Unit-02. She isn't scared to die because she thinks if she dies in Eva Unit-02, it's a meaning of honor. Asuka's mother was a technician for the NERV in Germany. Asuka's mother grew insane when she was test-piloting Eva Unit-02 and something went wrong. Asuka's mother commited suicide right in front of Asuka when she was only 5 years old. When Asuka went to Japan, she was much happier when she was the most popular girl in school. Everyone would literally follow her everywhere. Hikari is her bestfriend.
