Arael is the 15th Angel. Arael is a strange angel...Not only does Arael glow, but it can stay in space and still be able to attack, like Sahaquiel. Arael resembles a pheonix to my opinion...

Arael doesn't seem to want to attack NERV at all. Arael has no offensive attacks except it's ability to enter and read people's minds, contaminating them. Arael's telepathic "beam" is made up of energy like that of an AT Field's. It is made up of unknown matter. Arael's AT Field's strength is unknown because it stood so high and some attacks wouldn't reach maximum power by the time they hit.
